History

The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore is based upon a concept that began in 2001 through the Beacon Hill Neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts.  A group of seniors living together in this neighborhood sought a way to help one another live as long as possible in their homes and community.  Thus they created Beacon Hill Village, which continues to give seniors the independence and ability to age in place with community support.  To date, there are more than 125 Villages operating across the United States, Canada, Australia, and the Netherlands and growing.  The goal of Villages has historically been to provide support for community members to age in place while further developing a sense of community. True to the historic Village concept, Village by the Shore provides adults (50+ years) with volunteer services, transportation, socialization activities and discounts from select service providers.

The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore is generously funded by community supporters and organizations including:
The Lynn & Charles Kramer Family Fund
Jewish Federation of Atlantic & Cape May Counties & Jewish Community Foundation
United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey in Atlantic County
OceanFirst Foundation
